MAT 170 - Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry I

This course includes the following topics: elementary algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and applications.

Prerequisite(s): Take MAT 032 and RDG 032 with a minimum grade of “C”.

Triangle Trigonometry

Scientific calculator.
Any other device must be approved by the instructor of the course.

A 90-100
B 80-89
C 70-79
D 60-69
F 0-59

Student Learning Outcomes:

Solve problems using real numbers by using properties of operations.
Solve applied problems using algebraic expressions, equations, and formulas.
Apply properties of plane Geometry to perform tasks with angles and geometric figures.
Calculate surface area and volume using formulas for solid figures.
Solve problems involving triangles by using trigonometric strategies.
