Hormonal Disorders and Their Treatment
Topical, Ophthalmic, and Otic Medications
Recombinant Drugs and Chemotherapy
Vitamins, OTC Supplements, Antidotes, and Miscellaneous Topics

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Identify and explain the therapeutic and adverse effects of prescription medications, nonprescription medications, and alternative therapies commonly used to treat diseases of the:
- Gastrointestinal system
- Renal system
- Cardiovascular system
- Muscles, joint diseases, and pain
- Endocrine system
- Skin, ophthalmic and otic conditions
- Immune system
Identify and explain the therapeutic and adverse effects of vitamins, over-the-counter medications, supplements, antidotes, and emergency medications.
Identify and explain the most commonly prescribed drugs.
Identify and explain common Look-Alike and Sound-Alike medications.
Identify and explain commonly used medical and pharmaceutical abbreviations.
