HRT 275 - Horticulture Capstone


Class: 1 Lab: 0 Credits: 1
This course is an assessment of student’s horticulture knowledge and skills related to their career interest in the horticulture industry. 

Prerequisite(s): Take RDG 032  with a miminum grade of “C”. HRT 105 HRT 125 .
Course Topics:
  • Various horticulture and agriculture topics will be discussed based on student’s career interest. 
  • Various academic and hands on horticulture and agriculture skills post-test will be used to evaluate student’s knowledge and skills in relation to their career goals.

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.

B 80-89
C 70-79
D 60-69
F 0-59


Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Demonstrate ability to properly identify plants and grasses used in the horticulture industry.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of the provesses needed to start and/or manage a horticulture business.
  3. Demonstrate oral and written communication skills used in the horticulture industry.
  4. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to operate and maintain equipment used in the horticulture industry.
