BUS 220 - Business Ethics Class: 3 Credits: 3 This course includes an exploration of ethical issues arising in the context of doing business. Representative topics: employee rights and responsibilities, corporate regulations and rights, discrimination, truth in advertising, employee privacy, environmental exploitation and free enterprise.
Prerequisite(s): Take ENG 032 and MAT 032 and RDG 100 . Course Topics:
- Organizational perspective of business ethics
- Social responsibility
- Individual moral philosophies versus corporate culture
- Stakeholders’ role in business ethics
- Basic values of honesty, fairness, and integrity
- Common internal corporate ethical issues
- Benefits/limitations of an ethics audit
- Legislation concerning ethics in business
- Ethics compliance programs
- Global ethical issues
