CPT 168 - Programming Logic and Design Class: 3 Credits: 3 This course examines problem-solving techniques applied to program design. Topics include a variety of documentation techniques as means of solution presentation.
Prerequisite(s): Take CPT 101 with a minimum grade of “C”. Course Topics:
- Using Flowchart techniques to learn logic
- Learning how to design a program
- Step by step programming techniques
- Design and developing simple programs
- Design and developing complex programs
Textbooks: Textbook information can be found on the Book Inn Web site Required Materials:
- USB Flash Drive (min. capacity 8 Gb.)
Grading System: A grade of C is required for all course work.
A 90 - 100
B 80 - 89
C 70 - 79
D 60 - 69
F 0 - 59 Student Learning Outcomes:
- Describe computer programming and logic.
- Develop a flowchart and pseudocode for a simple program.
- Design and create complex program with calculations.
- Design and develop a program to apply decision making with multiple conditions.
- Design and develop a program using string manipulation.
- Develop a program using sequential files.
