HRT 105 - Landscape Plant Materials Class: 3 Lab: 3 Credits: 4 This course is a study of plant materials that are used in the southeastern landscaping and nursery trade. Identification of plants by common and scientific nomenclature, characteristics, culture, and use are included.
Prerequisite(s): Take RDG 032 . Course Topics:
- Evaluation and identification of woody plants recommended for our landscapes will be covered.
- Plant characteristics and potential issues for each will be discussed.
Textbooks: Textbook information can be found on the Book Inn Web site Required Materials: None Grading System: An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.

F 0-59 Student Learning Outcomes:
- Identify most commonly used woody ornamentals.
- Recall scientific names when needed to identify plant material.
- Summarize particular characteristics of plants that are important to their use in landscaping.
- Recognize cultural problems associated with plants used in landscaping.
- Prepare a presentation that communicates the attributes of plants.
