IST 202 - Cisco Router Configuration


Class: 3 Credits: 3
This course is a study of LANs, WANs, OSI models, Ethernet, token ring, fiber distributed data interface TCP/IP addressing protocol, dynamic routing, routing, and the network administrator’s role and function.

Prerequisite(s): Take IST 201  with a minimum grade of “C”.

  • IOS File Management

An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.

Student Learning Outcomes:
 

  1. Configure and verify static routing and default routing.
  2. Configure VLANs and Inter-VLAN routing applying security best practices.
  3. Configure reduncancy on a switched network using STP and EtherChannel.
  4. Configure WLANs using a WLC and L2 security best practices.
  5. Configure IPv4 and IPv6 static routing on routers.
