RAD 130 - Radiographic Procedures I


Class: 2 Lab: 3 Credits: 3
This course provides an introduction to radiographic procedures. Positioning of the chest, abdomen, and extremities are included.

Corequisite(s): Take RAD 105

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required to continue in the Radiologic Technology Program.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Select appropriate radiographic principles for perforing rutine and non-rutine radiographic examinations of the chest, abdomen, upper extremity, and shoulder girdle.
  2. Communicate clearly to patients, radiographers, and other health care personnel when performing routine and non-routine radiographic examinations of the chest, abdomen, upper extremity, and shoulder girdle.
  3. Determine appropriate radiation protection principles for the performance of routine and non-routine radiographic examinations of the chest, abdomen, upper extremity, and shoulder girdle.
  4. Identify radiographic anatomy on completed images of the chest, abdomen, upper extremity, and shoulder girdle.
  5. Critique radiographic examinations of the chest, abdomen, upper extremity, and shoulder girdle to determine radigraphic quality in regards to: positioning accurace, expsure factors, demonstration of anatomy, and other technical points.
