AOT 143 - Office Systems and Procedures


Class: 3 Lab: 0 Credits: 3
This course includes a study of disease and procedural coding and classification systems.

Prerequisite(s): Take AOT 141  and AHS 102  with a minimum grade of “C”.
Course Topics:
  • Level II National Codes
  • Assigning diagnoses codes
  • Coding for Anesthesia
  • Coding guidelines for surgery
  • Coding for surgery
  • Use of CPT codes
  • Levels of evaluation and management services

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required in this class to be applied toward any Administrative Office Technology degree or certificate.

  2. Differentiate between Evaluation and Management services.
