MTH 120 - Introduction to Massage Class: 3 Lab: 3 Credits: 4 A comprehensive introduction to therapeutic massage including history, theories, benefits, contraindications, ethical considerations, and S.C. Law for licensure. Swedish techniques are introduced.
Course Topics:
- History and legal considerations of professional touch
- Ethical and professional considerations
- Effect, benefits, indications and contraindications of massage
- Safe and sanitary practice of massage and hydrotherapy
- Effective assessment and consultation for massage
