MTT 111 - Machine Tool Theory & Practice I Class: 3 Lab: 6 Credits: 5 This course is an introduction to the basic operation of machine shop equipment.
Corequisite(s): Take MTT 120 . Course Topics:
- Shop Safety
- Machine shop equipment identification
- Basic measuring and inspection
- Basic milling operations
- Basic turning operations

Grading System: An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.

Student Learning Outcomes:
- Identify all basic measurement tools.
- Recognize safe and unsafe work practices in a shop.
- Recognize various hand tools and bench work.
- Identify the principles and types of cutting-off metal saws accessories.
- Perform basic milling operations.
