HUS 101 - Introduction to Human Services

Description: This course covers an overview of the field of human services. Role responsibilities, problems, boundaries, and strategies of human service workers are included.

Prerequisite(s): Take RDG 100 and ENG 100 with a minimum grade of C.

History of and current issues in human services
Ethical, professional, and legal issues
Theoretical perspectives
Skills, processes, and case management
Couples, families, and groups
Cultural competence
Consultation and supervision
Working with varied client populations
Research, evaluation, and assessment

An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.
