HUS 101 - Introduction to Human Services Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Description: This course covers an overview of the field of human services. Role responsibilities, problems, boundaries, and strategies of human service workers are included.
Prerequisite(s): Take RDG 100 and ENG 100 with a minimum grade of C. Course Topics:
- History of and current issues in human services
- Ethical, professional, and legal issues
- Theoretical perspectives
- Skills, processes, and case management
- Couples, families, and groups
- Cultural competence
- Consultation and supervision
- Working with varied client populations
- Research, evaluation, and assessment
