Description: This course includes the study of laboratory techniques commonly used in physicians’ offices and other facilities.
Prerequisite(s): MED 102 , MED 105 , MED 113 and MED 118 .

Grading System:
An overall grade of B or higher is required for transferability.
A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F = 0 - 59

- Identify and demonstrate proficiency in immunological tests performed in the medical office.
- Identify and demonstrate proficiency in basic techniques used in microbiology.
- Demonstrate proficiency in phlebotomy technique.
- Identify and demonstrate proficiency in clinical chemistry tests performed in the medical office.
- Identify human fluids that may be used in chemical analysis.
- Identify the basic structures of the circulatory system.
- Recognize the reasons why collection and transportation of specimens are critical to testing microbial specimens.
