PNR 130 - Medical/Surgical Nursing II

Description: This course is a continuation of the study of the nursing process. Concepts include physiological, psychosocial, pharmacological, nutritional, and health and safety needs of the adult patient. Clinical experiences include commonly occurring health problems having predictable outcomes.
Prerequisite(s): PNR 110 and PNR 120

An overall grade of B or higher is required for transferability.

- Compare and contrast the normal physiology of body systems to pathologic variations. (PLO 2)
- Compare and contrast diagnostic evaluations and treatments. (PLO 2)
- Identify common nursing interventions, rationales, and expected outcomes related to client teaching for individual management of selected common disease processes. (PLO 2)
- Demonstrate competency in selected advanced nursing skills and interventions utilizing principles of safety. (PLO 1)
- Demonstrate critical thinking by combining knowledge of selected disease processes and assessment data to formulate desire outcomes. (PLO 2)
