DHM 265 - Hydraulic Systems

Description: This course is a study of the theory, application, testing, and repair of diesel and heavy equipment hydraulic systems.
Prerequisite(s): Take DHM 159 or CWE 113 and DHM 173
Course Topics:
- Heavy equipment hydraulic systems theory and operation
- Hydraulic system diagnosis
- Hydraulic system repair procedures
- Pascal’s law of hydraulics

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.
A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F = 0 - 59
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate an understanding of hydraulic principles.
- Demonstrate the ability to repair hydraulic hoses and/or connections.
- Demonstrate the diagnostic process as it relates to hydraulic systems.
- Show the ability to properly remove and reinstall pumps and hoses.
