DHM 251 - Suspension and Steering

Description: This course is a study of steering systems, suspension systems, and basic front-end alignment techniques.
Prerequisite(s): Take DHM 159 or CWE 113 and DHM 173 .
Course Topics:
- Tires and wheels
- Front suspension service
- Rear suspension service
- Wheel alignments
- Power assisted steering systems

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.
A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F = 0 - 59
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate proper setup of alignment equipment to record wheel alignment angle measurements.
- Perform diagnostic, repair, and adjustment procedures for steering systems and components.
- Perform diagnostic, repair and adjustment procedures for suspension systems and components.
- Demonstrate industry standard tire maintenance and repair procedures.
