DHM 272 - Trailer Technology Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 3 Credits: 4
Description: This course is a study of the theory and practical application of service, repair, and maintenance of common road trailer units.
Prerequisite(s): Take DHM 159 or CWE 113 and DHM 173 . Course Topics:
- Trailer Landing Gear: Operation, maintenance, and repair
- Trailer Braking Systems: Component identification, adjustment, and troubleshooting
- Trailer Suspension Systems: Components identification, adjustment, and repair
- Trailer Bodywork and Panel Repair: Door and panel removal and maintenance
- Trailer Electrical Systems: Trailer wiring diagrams
Textbooks: Textbook information can be found on the Chaser’s Bark Shop website. Required Materials: Grading System: An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.
A = 90 - 100

C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F = 0 - 59 Student Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate an understanding of landing gear operation.
- Perform basic trailer brake diagnosis, adjustments, and repair.
- Interpret and explain modern trailer wiring diagram.
- Perform trailer door maintenance procedures.
- Interpret trailer rolling gear alignment angles.
- Demonstrate the ability to mount and balance trailer wheel and tire assembly.
