CPT 236 - Introduction to Java Programming Class: 3 Credits: 3 This course is an introduction to java programming. Topics will cover java syntax and classes for use in the development of java applications and applets.
Prerequisite(s): Take CPT 168 with a minimum grade of “C”. Course Topics:
- Learn how to work with the Java platform
- Learn the syntax of the Java programming language
- Learning how to design a form
- Learning how to code the form to be functional
- Design and develop simple programs
- Design and develop complex programs
Textbooks: Textbook information can be found on the Book Inn Web site Required Materials:
- USB Flash Drive (min. capacity 8 Gb.)
Grading System: A grade of C is required for all course work.
A 90 - 100
B 80 - 89
C 70 - 79
D 60 - 69
F 0 - 59 Student Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate the use of basic Java syntax.
- Create Java objects, methods, and classes.
- Incorporate input operations, output operations, selection, repetition, arrays, and strings into basic Java programs.
- Create Java applets, multithreads, and animation.
- Develop programs to access user files and databases.
