PNR 140 - Medical/Surgical Nursing III Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Clinical Hours: 6 Credits: 5
Description: This course is a continuation of the study of the nursing process. Concepts include physiological, psychosocial, nutritional, and health and safety needs of the adult. Clinical experiences address selected commonly occurring health problems having predictable outcomes.
Prerequisite(s): PNR 121 , PNR 130 , and PNR 154 . Course Topics:

Grading System: An overall grade of B or higher is required for transferability.

- Compare and contrast the normal physiology of body systems to pathologic variations. (PLO 2)
- Compare and contrast diagnostic evaluations and treatments. (PLO 2)
- Identify common nursing interventions, rationales, and expected outcomes related to client teaching for individual management of selected common disease processes. (PLO 2)
- Demonstrate competency in selected advanced nursing skills and interventions utilizing principles of safety. (PLO 1)
- Demonstrate critical thinking by combining knowledge of selected disease processes and assessment data to formulate desire outcomes. (PLO 2)
