MEC 114 - Electrical Drawings Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Description: This course covers the interpretation of various types of electrical drawings. It includes wiring diagrams, schematics, line diagram, ladder diagram, circuit diagram, and other types of electrical drawings commonly used in industry.
Prerequisite(s): MEC 110, MEC 130, and MEC 102. Course Topics:
- Components and symbols used in electrical drawings or schematics
- Power circuits and control circuits
- Panel drawings
Textbooks: Textbook information can be found on the Chaser’s Bark Shop website Required Materials: Grading System: An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.
A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F = 0 - 59 Student Learning Outcomes: Upon competition of the course the student will be able to:
- Identify various electrical and electronic symbols used in schematics and other electrical drawings. Classify different types of electrical drawings.
- Understand how to read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Identify physical components using symbols found in electrical drawings.
