MEC 121 - Testing and Measurement Equipment Lecture Hours: 2 Credits: 2
Description: This course covers various test equipment (i.e. DMM, oscilloscope, etc) and measurement devices (i.e. calipers, dial indicators, etc).
Prerequisite(s): MEC 110, MEC 130, and MEC 102. Course Topics:
- Digital Multimeter, ammeter, and other electrical test equipment
- Calipers
- Dial indicators
- Other precision measurement equipment
Textbooks: Textbook information can be found on the Chaser’s Bark Shop website Required Materials: Grading System: An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.
A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F = 0 - 59 Student Learning Outcomes: Upon competition of the course the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate proper use of a digital multimeter.
- Demonstrate proper use of an ammeter.
- Demonstrate proper use of a megohmmeter.
- Demonstrate proper use of dial indicators and calipers.
- Demonstrate proper use and understanding of precision measurement equipment.
