MEC 130 - Motor Controls


Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 3 Credits: 4

Description: This course is an introduction to the principles and applications of motor control circuits. A study of the various control devices and wiring used in industrial processes is also covered.

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.

A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F =   0 - 59


Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Demonstrate proper industrial safety practices.
  2. Demonstrate proper use of test equipment.
  3. Identify logic symbols used in ladder logic.
  4. Design ladder diagrams.
  5. Design, build, and test Motor Starter, Relay Logic, and Timer Circuits.
