EET 231 - Industrial Electronics Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 3 Credits: 4
Description: This course is a survey of topics related to industrial application of electronic devices and circuits. The course covers switches, DC and AC motor controls, sensors and transducers, open and closed loop control circuits and voltage converting interfaces. Circuits are constructed and tested.
Prerequisite(s): Take EET 141 . Course Topics:
- Safety issues pertinent to industrial work environments
- Software control of basic motors - DC, servo, and stepper motors
- Electronic components used in industrial control circuits
- Feedback systems and sensors used in industrial control applications
- The use of software to interpret feedback signals and control outputs
- Final correcting devices and amplifiers in a closed loop system
- Proportional, derivative, and integral control in closed loop systems

- Demonstrate advanced knowledge in the use of electronics test equipment including digital multimeter loading and waveform analysis using an oscilloscope.
- Create a technical project report adhering to a prescribed format.
