Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.
A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F = 0 - 59
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Define the scope of practice in nail care and demonstrate an understanding of the state’s scope of practice regarding nail care.
- Identify the equipment used when performing manicures and pedicures and summarize the importance of cleaning and disinfecting a pedicure bath.
- List and describe the five basic nail shapes for women and the most popular nail shape for men.
- Memorize and describe the three-part procedure used in the performance of the basic manicure and explain the differences between spa manicures/pedicures and basic manicures/pedicures.
- Explain the benefits of paraffin wax in manicures and callous softener in pedicures and define reflexology and its use during a pedicure procedure.
