Description: This course is a study of basic electrical theory as applied to truck and heavy equipment batteries, starters, and alternators.

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.
A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F = 0 - 59
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Identify the operation and maintenance of the diesel engine cranking and charging system components.
- Apply Ohm’s Law as it relates to electrical circuit measurements.
- Interpret electrical circuit wiring symbols and diagrams.
- Record accurate resistance, voltage, and amperage measurements using a Digital Volt & Ohm Meter.
- Perform diagnostic and replacement procedures for the charging and starting system components.
