CPT 127 - Python Programming I Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Description: This course is a study of Python programming and covers the language syntax and algorithm design. Students also learn how Python can be used for many purposes in information systems.
Prerequisite(s): Take CPT 168 with a minimum grade of C. Course Topics:
- Basic syntax, data types, and control structures in Python
- Basic programs in Python
- Built in Python functions
- Data stores
- Test and debug code

A = 90 - 100

F = 0 - 59 Student Learning Outcomes:
- Incorporate appropriate syntax, data types, and control structures such as decisions and loops into basic Python programs.
- Write programs to input data, solve computational problems and output answers.
- Use built-in functions and standard libraries.
- Create and manipulate data structures such as lists, tuples, sets and dictionaries.
- Develop, debug and test code using tools like print statements, error messages, and IDEs.
