Description: This course is a study of Hispanic culture and intercultural communication.
Prerequisite(s): Take ENG 100 and RDG 100 with a minimum grade of C.

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.
A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69

Student Learning Outcomes:
- Identify essential aspects of the cultures of the Hispanic world.
- Describe specific Hispanic cultural phenomena.
- Compare the complexity, diversity, and similarities among two or more cultures.
- Describe the impact of power differentials - especially economic and racial - as they relate to the beliefs, histories, and lived experiences of Hispanic societies.
- Articulate cultural sensitivity, appreciation, and increased understanding of the diversity offered by the Spanish-speaking world.
