GEO 102 - World Geography


Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3

Description: This course includes a geographic analysis of the regions of the world, i.e., North and South America, Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa. Diversity of each region is emphasized by examining its physical environment, natural resources, social, cultural, economic and political systems.

Prerequisite(s): Take ENG 032  and RDG 100  with a minimum grade of C.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Identify the major branches and subfields of geography and the role of human-environment interaction on a global scale.
  2. Describe several components of the human and physical geography in the eight world regions.
  3. Define key terms, themes, and concepts in world regional  geography.
  4. Describe the physical and human processes that shape and define world geography.
  5. Explain the tools and methods used by geographers to study world geography.
