HIM 266 - Computers in Health Care Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Description: This course covers hardware and software components of computers for medical record applications, methods of controlling accuracy and security of data in computer systems, record linkage, and data sharing concepts.
Prerequisite(s): Take HIM 130 with a minimum grade of C. Course Topics:
- Types of health insurance
- Insurance forms
- Medical insurance software

- Computer with Internet access.
- Anti-virus software.
Grading System: An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.
A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69

- Complete insurance claim forms manually.
- Use medical insurance software to complete insurance claims electronically.
