IMT 120 - Mechanical Installations


Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 6 Credits: 5

Description: This course covers techniques of assembling, rigging, and installation and/or maintenance of mechanical equipment.

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.

A =  90 - 100
B =   80 - 89
C =   70 - 79
D =   60 - 69
F =     0 - 59


Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Perform a safe lift, using both power-operated and hand-operated equipment.
  2. Use cranes and hoists to relocate machinery.
  3. Use ladders and scaffolding safely.
  4. Inspect rigging and lifting equipment in order to recognize and use only safe and properly maintained equipment.
  5. Install machinery by applying the principles of setting, leveling, alignment, and anchoring.
  6. Troubleshoot machinery.
  7. Disassemble and reassemble machinery.
