IST 204 - Cisco Troubleshooting


Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3

Description: This course is a study of troubleshooting network problems.

Prerequisite(s): Take IST 203  with a minimum grade of C.
Course Topics:
  • Frame Relay.
  • VPNs
  • Point-to-Point Connections.
  • Network Address Translation for IPv4.
  • Troubleshooting the Network.
  • Securing the Network. (IPSec)
  • Connecting to the WAN.

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.

A =  90 - 100
B =   80 - 89
C =   70 - 79
D =   60 - 69
F =     0 - 59

  1. Describe the operations and benefits of virtual private networks (VPNs) and tunneling.
  2. Configure Frame Relay.
  3. Configure and troubleshoot IPSec tunneling operations.
  4. Describe different WAN technologies and their benefits. 
  5. Configure and troubleshoot serial connections.
