MLT 241 - Medical Lab Transition Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Clinical Hours: 0 Credits: 3
Description: This course correlates laboratory procedures and concepts, with emphasis on higher level cognitive applications.
Prerequisite(s): Take MLT 251 and MLT 252 with a minimum grade of C. Must be completed prior to taking this course. Course Topics:
- Professional Development
- Resume and interview skills
- Teach a clinical laboratory procedure and write a standard operating procedure.
- Hematology and Hemostasis review
- Chemistry and Urinalysis review
- Immunology and Immunohematology review
- Microbiology Review
- Test taking skills
Textbooks: Textbook information can be found on the Book Inn website Required Materials:
- In order to participate in one of the Online/Hybrid classes, you need a computer that meets the following minimum requirements:
- Recent computer (last 3 years) with Internet access
- Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher or other current browser
- Java
- Word-processing software (must be able to save Word format)
- Up-to-date anti-virus software.
Grading System: An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.
A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69

- Demonstrate effective reading comprehension skills by performing continuing education activities.
- Teach a laboratory technique.
