RAD 283 - Imaging Practicum Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 0 Clinical Hours: 6 Credits: 3
Description: This clinical course provides an opportunity for exploration of career opportunities in radiology and advanced imaging modalities.
Prerequisite(s): Take RAD 230 and RAD 256 with a minimum grade of C. Course Topics:
- Interventional Radiology
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging
- Mammography
- Nuclear Medicine
- Radiation Oncology

Grading System: An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability and to continue in the Radiologic Technology Program.
A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F = 0 - 59 Student Learning Outcomes:
- Communicate and work effectively with the healthcare professionals and patients within Computed Tomography, and two of the following additional imaging modalities: Interventional Radiology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation Oncology.
- Assist in the performance of a procedure(s), under direct observation of a qualified practitioner, in Computed Tomography and two of the following additional imaging modalities: Interventional Radiology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation Oncology.
- Identify the basic principles of Computed Tomography and two of the following additional imaging modalities: Interventional Radiology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation Oncology.
- Describe how diagnostic radiography complements the special imaging modalities.
- Demonstrate adherence to Radiologic Technology Program policies and procedures while rotating through the various special imaging modalities.
