SPC 209 - Interpersonal Communications Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Credits: 3
Description: This course is an introduction to the principles of interpersonal communication with emphasis on interpersonal theory as applied to personal and professional relationships. Students will learn to observe and analyze how these principles operate in daily interaction with others.
Prerequisite(s): Take ENG 100 and RDG 100 . Course Topics:

- Self Concept development and presentation
- Perception
- Emotions
- Language
- Nonverbal Communication
- Listening
- Relational Dynamics
- Communication in intimate and non-intimate relationships
- Communication in the workplace

- Managing communication conflicts

Grading System: An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.
A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
