BUS 240 - Business Statistics Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Description: This course is a study of statistical methods related to business, including descriptive statistics, probability, binomial and normal distributions, and hypothesis testing.
Prerequisite(s): Take MAT 102 or MAT 103 or MAT 153 with a minimum grade of C. Course Topics:
- Data presentation
- Measures of central locations and dispersion
- Probability and probability distributions
- Estimation and hypothesis testing, and regression models
- Use of Excel and R is emphasized throughout the course

F = 0 - 59 Student Learning Outcomes:
- Interpret and present the meaning of quantitative data and the results of data analysis.
- Understand the basic concepts of quantitative reasoning, and how inferences are drawn from quantitative analysis.
- Determine and use appropriate quantitative methods to solve problems, interpret the results of data analyses, and assess results for reasonableness.
