CPT 297 - Big Data Analytics Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3
Description: This course introduces big data concepts and the fundamentals of providing efficient analytics for extremely large data-sets.
Prerequisite(s): Take CPT 168 or CPT 180 with a minimum grade of C. Corequisite(s): Take CPT 244 with a minimum grade of C. Course Topics:
- Data collection
- Data analysis
- Normalization and anomalies techniques
- Relational databases
- Validation of integrity of the database and tables
- Visualization of data

A = 90 - 100

F = 0 - 59 Student Learning Outcomes:
- Collect, clean, transform, analyze and visualize real world data for an assigned project.
- Create a written report of the findings of the project.
- Present findings using a visualization tool.
