WLD 110 - Welding Safety and Health

Description: This course is an introduction to safety and health hazards associated with welding and related processes.

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.

A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F =   0 - 59


Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Define the following terms:  accident, hazard, unsafe act and unsafe condition.
  2. Explain the information that can be found on a MSDS/SDS.
  3. Determine the purpose, rights and objectives of the OSHA Act (29 CFR 1910).
  4. Explain the objectives and functions of OSHA regarding employees’ and employer’s rights and responsibilities of safety and health.
  5. Demonstrate proper use of advanced welding personal protective equipment.
