MTH 138 - Anatomy and Physiology for Massage Therapy II Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 0 Credits: 2
Description: This course will focus on the immune/lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems. Emphasis is placed on the effects of clinical massage modalities on these body systems.
Course Topics: Need Grading System: An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.
A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F = 0 - 59 Student Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate professional responsibility and adherence to ethical principles.
- Speak publicly, listen actively, and respond effectively.
- Identify common evidence-based indications and contraindications for massage and discuss the benefits of massage with clients.
- Demonstrate active listening and critical thinking skills in interviewing and determining an appropriate treatment plan for a client.
- Provide a professional and effective relaxation massage using classic (Swedish) techniques, demonstrate the appropriate application of deep tissue massage.
