DHM 125 - Diesel Fuel Systems

Description: This course is a basic study of diesel engine fuel systems including pumps, governors, and injectors.
Prerequisite(s): Take DHM 159 or CWE 113 and DHM 173 .

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.
A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F = 0 - 59
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Identify the difference between indirect and direct fuel injection in diesel engines.
- Identify the operation and maintenance of the components of fuel supply and delivery systems.
- Examine the development of alternative combustion ignition fuels.
- Analyze the causes and effects of diesel fuel contamination.
- Perform diagnostic and repair procedures of the diesel fuel system.
