DHM 275 - Hybrid/Electric Drive Systems


Lecture Hours: 3 Credits: 3

Description: This course is a study of the hybridization of conventional propulsion systems along with the development of battery electric vehicles and their propulsion systems. Parameters of various battery technologies will be addressed.

Prerequisite(s): Take DHM 159  or CWE 113  and DHM 173

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Identify the PPE and industry safety requirements when working with hybrid and electric drive vehicles.
  2. Identify the procedure to safely isolate the high voltage system for maintenance and repairs.
  3. Analyze the relationship between the HVAC system and battery cooling.
  4. Examine the development of hybrid and electric drive technology in vehicle and equipment systems.
