DHM 265 - Hydraulic Systems

Description: This course is a study of the theory, application, testing, and repair of diesel and heavy equipment hydraulic systems.
Prerequisite(s): Take DHM 159 or CWE 113 and DHM 173 .
Course Topics:
- Heavy equipment hydraulic systems theory and operation
- Hydraulic system diagnosis
- Hydraulic system repair procedures
- Pascal’s law of hydraulics

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.
A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F = 0 - 59
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Identify the operation of hydraulic pumps, valves, actuators, and motors.
- Apply Pascal’s Law as it relates to hydraulic system operation.
- Interpret hydraulic system symbols, diagrams, and schematics.
- Perform inspections and repairs of hydraulic system components.
