ACR 140 - Automatic Controls


Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 3 Credits: 3

Description: This course is a study of the adjustment, repair and maintenance of a variety of pressure and temperature sensitive automatic controls.

Prerequisite(s): Take ACR 101 , ACR 106  and ACR 118 .

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.

A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F =   0 - 59


Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Draw a wiring diagram for a basic air conditioner with either a line or low voltage control system.
  2. Record electrical system data.
  3. Convert a schematic diagram to a “ladder” diagram in a drawing.
  4. Setup a residential heating and cooling thermostat for installation.
  5. Assemble wiring circuits.
