Description: This course covers the basic study of diesel engine design and operating principles.
Prerequisite(s): Take AUT 132 or AUT 130 Course Topics:

- Diesel Engine Air Induction Systems

- Explain how a diesel engine works.
- Describe the difference between direct and indirect injection in diesel engines.
- Identify the parts found in a typical diesel engine.
- Compare and contrast the advantages and disadvantages of a diesel engine.
- Explain the need for and how the glow plug system works.
- Research the need for emission control systems as they relate to diesel engines.
