ENG 208 - World Literature I

Description: This course is a study of masterpieces of world literature in translation from the ancient world to the sixteenth century.
Prerequisite(s): Take ENG 102 with a minimum grade of C.

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.
A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F = 0 - 59
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Identify writers and works of the period.
- Relate the social, historical, and cultural influences in literature in oral and/or written analyses.
- Analyze or explicate works using formalist criticism.
- Defend original theses with relevant evidence from primary sources.
- Synthesize several critical analyses/secondary sources into an essay that conforms to MLA guidelines.
