RAD 115 - Radiographic Imaging II Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 3 Clinical Hours: 0 Credits: 3
Description: This course continues a detailed study of primary and secondary influencing factors and accessory equipment related to imaging.
Prerequisite(s): Take RAD 102 , RAD 105 , RAD 110 , RAD 130 , and RAD 153 with a minimum grade of C. Course Topics:
- Radiographic Qualities: Density, Contrast, Detail, Distortion, and Latitude
- Production of scatter radiation
- Reduction of scatter radiation
- Influencing factors affecting radiographs
- Technique charts
- Automatic exposure control
- Tomography
- Magnification radiography
- Sensitometry
- Quality control for radiographic processing
- Utilization of computed radiography and digital radiography

- Apply the basic radiographic principles when utilizing both digital and computed radiography.
- Evaluate different methods of Image acquisition.
- Recognize and describe various PACS and archiving capabilities.
