SPA 201 - Intermediate Spanish I


Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Credits: 3

Description: This course is a review of Spanish grammar with attention given to more complex grammatical structures and reading difficult prose.

Prerequisite(s): Take SPA 102  with a minimum grade of C.
Course Topics:
  • Reading skills appropriate for non-native speakers of Spanish at the third semester level
  • Writing skills appropriate for non-native speakers of Spanish at the third semester level
  • Speaking skills appropriate for non-native speakers of Spanish at the third semester level
  • Listening skills appropriate for non-native speakers of Spanish at the third semester level
  • Cultural awareness of traditions/events/significant persons in the Hispanic/Latino community

Required Materials:
  • Spanish/English Dictionary recommended

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.

A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F =   0 - 59
