AOT 143 - Office Systems and Procedures

Description: This course emphasizes procedures and applications used in the office environment.
Prerequisite(s): Take AOT 141 and AHS 102 with a minimum grade of C.
Course Topics:
- Level II National Codes
- Assigning diagnoses codes
- Coding for Anesthesia
- Coding guidelines for surgery
- Coding for surgery
- Use of CPT codes
- Levels of evaluation and management services

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.
A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69
F = 0 - 59
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Utilize CPT codes to code a wide variety of patient services.
- Differentiate between Evaluation and Management services.
- Apply coding and conventions when assigning diagnoses codes.
