WLD 160 - Fabrication Welding


Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 6 Credits: 3

Description: This course covers the layout and fabrication procedures as they pertain to sheet metal and structural steel shapes. The course will also include shop safety and hand and power tools. 

Prerequisite(s): Take WLD 142  
Course Topics:
  • Introduction to fabrication equipment and welding projects from blueprints.

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.

A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C = 70 - 79
D = 60 - 69

Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Setup and operate a press brake, plate roller, ironworker, tube bender.
  2. lnterpret detailed fabrication blueprints.
  3. Complete projects within the specifications given on a blueprint.
  4. ldentify and properly use the tools associated with fabricating.
  5. Describe the steps taken to complete a blueprint.
