DHM 125 - Diesel Fuel Systems

Description: This course is a basic study of diesel engine fuel systems including pumps, governors, and injectors.

 


Prerequisite(s): Take DHM 159  or CWE 113  and DHM 173  
Course Topics:
  • Diesel fuel system theory and operation
  • Diesel fuel system diagnosis
  • Diesel fuel system repair

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.

A =  90 - 100
B =   80 - 89
C =   70 - 79
D =   60 - 69
F =     0 - 59


Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Demonstrate how to use a diagnostic scan tool.
  2. Perform an injector replacement.
  3. Explain common rail fuel systems.
  4. Exhibit an understanding of the diagnostic process as it relates to fuel system outcomes.
  5. Explain how the fuel system can affect engine operation.
