DHM 171 - Introduction to Heavy Equipment Welding


Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 3 Credits: 3

Description: This course introduces the proper welding techniques utilized to alter a sub-frame, alter a unit, or add equipment to improve payload space, safety, or location.

Prerequisite(s): Take DHM 159  or CWE 113  and DHM 173  
Course Topics:
  • Alteration of sub-frames.
  • Add equipment to improve payload space, safety, or location.
  • Various welding processes.

Grading System:
An overall grade of C or higher is required for transferability.

A =  90 - 100
B =   80 - 89
C =   70 - 79
D =   60 - 69
F =     0 - 59

  3. Demonstrate the proper set up and operation of welding machine
